Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Vyum mobile app and related services (the “Service”) operated by Vyum (“Vyum”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Vyum. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when registering, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app.

3. License to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial recipe management. You may not copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted.

4. AI features — important

Vyum uses artificial intelligence to scan and structure recipes, suggest ingredient substitutions, translate recipes, and provide a voice cooking assistant. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong.

Always use your own judgment, especially regarding allergies, dietary restrictions, food safety, and cooking temperatures. AI-generated substitutions and recipe details are suggestions only and are not professional nutritional, medical, or food-safety advice. Verify ingredients and instructions before cooking or consuming.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the recipes and other content you add to Vyum. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you (including sending it to our AI provider to perform actions you request). You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and use any content you import, and for not infringing the rights of others.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or access controls, or abuse the AI features (e.g. automated or excessive requests).
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or API keys from the app.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

7. Subscriptions and payments

  • Vyum offers a free tier with limited AI usage and an optional paid Pro subscription that unlocks additional usage and features.
  • Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are subject to their terms. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (including Supabase, Anthropic, Unsplash, and the app stores). Your use of the Service is also subject to their applicable terms, and we are not responsible for their services.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vyum will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm us, other users, or third parties.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
